Cold Good Wicked Fun

Good fortune came my way last night, as I stood outside the Canon Theatre in subzero temperatures, freezing my toes off, when my name was called as a winner in the Wicked lottery! I had gone off to downtown after work in hopes of winning Rush tickets for the evening showing of Wicked, a Broadway musical currently playing here in Toronto. I had heard gushing reviews about this show, which is a musical based on the witches of The Wizard of Oz. It's a prequel to the classic movie, full of original songs and fun characters.

I'd been wanting to see it for a while, but the $100+ price tag was rather daunting. That's why when my friends asked me to stand outside in the minus-sixteen-with-windchill weather for a CHANCE to win cheap tix to the show, I said SURE.

And so there I was, in my twenty five dollar BOX SEATS, sitting so close to the stage, that I could have spit on the actors if I wanted to. I could see every detail in their faces, expression in their eyes. And the show was so lovely and well-acted, and the songs were so brilliant and original. Definitely a highlight and one of the best shows I've ever seen!
