Sadly, my little cactus, Pee Wee, with his star-shaped, rose-coloured flower, and rich-green stem, rotted over into an ugly pooh-brown mess of plant guts some time over the Christmas holiday. He sat loyally by my side for many months at work, and did not complain even on the two occassions that the cleaning lady knocked him over and spilled his shallow soil all over my desktop. He was such a cute little cactus; so patient, so unassuming. It is with big regret that I let him stay with the receptionist during my absence these past couple of weeks because it is there, on her desk, that I found his corpse this morning. Rest in peace, my dear Pee Wee.
PS. Does this mean New Year, New Plants?
